New South Wales crying poor over injuries: Queensland coach Mal Meninga
MAL Meninga says NSW are “crying poor” about their State of Origin squad injuries.
Manly backrower Glenn Stewart (ankle) will be unavailable for the May 28 series opener at Suncorp Stadium.
Coach Laurie Daley may decide Blues incumbents James Maloney (shoulder) and Robbie Farah (elbow) will not have enough football under their belts to warrant selection.
Jarryd Hayne (shoulder), Josh Dugan (ankle), Michael Jennings (ankle), Luke Lewis (shoulder) and Trent Merrin (thumb) have injuries placing them in varying degrees of doubt or at least harming their preparation.
Daley ruled out on Sunday selecting Greg Bird or Hayne at five-eighth should Maloney be unavailable for Game One.
