Injuries and misdemeanours are cruelling Laurie Daley’s Origin goal

Spare a thought for Laurie Daley, who has had to endure the players he’d earmarked as potential Origin players miss more than 30 games between them this season – and counting.

Call it a curse, call it what you like – it just seems that NSW are not meant to end Queensland’s eight year dominance in State of Origin.

Injuries, suspensions and now off-field misdemeanours means NSW will go into this year’s Origin series underdone and quite possibly understrength.

Just when it looked like the Blues were finally on track for a rare distraction-free campaign, their halfback gets arrested and their enforcer gets himself placed on report for a dangerous throw.

The Blues came into the year with Luke Lewis in the casualty ward in a battle to overcome a shoulder injury suffered at the World Cup in time for game one of the Origin series.
