Maroons backrow is underdone
QUEENSLAND are set to gamble on an undercooked backrow to take on NSW in the 100th State of Origin game by remaining loyal to last year’s series-winning squad.
Queensland selectors want Sam Thaiday to make their decision on his Origin readiness easy for them by playing against Gold Coast on Friday.
A decision to play Thaiday without a game in 46 days in the May 28 Origin series opener would be made all the more difficult as two incumbent backrowers Josh Papalii and especially Chris McQueen are short of recent minutes to demonstrate their form.
