New South Wales Blues camp wary of Queensland skipper Cameron Smith bullying referees
A CONCERNED NSW camp is urging referees Shayne Hayne and Ben Cummins to stay strong as Queensland skipper Cam Smith employs a controversial campaign of intimidation and dodgy tackling tactics.
The Daily Telegraph understands the NRL is more than aware of Smith’s attempts to bully referees with NSW also watching Smith’s tackling and wrestling techniques.
Spurred on by 50,000 rabid fans, Smith will no doubt use his superstar status to try and influence the referees in tonight’s opening State of Origin match in Brisbane.
