Smith warns against complacency

Queensland captain Cameron Smith is adamant the Maroons will not fall victim to complacency, as they chase their ninth-straight State of Origin series victory.

Confidence is high in the Maroons camp ahead of Wednesday week’s Origin I at Lang Park and they will enter the encounter as favourites courtesy of winning the past eight series and the fact they have again selected a largely settled line-up.

They will be missing the injured Sam Thaiday (calf) but Matt Gillett comes into the starting line-up, having been involved with the Maroons squad since 2012, while Aidan Guerra is set to debut off the interchange bench after being a member of their emerging Origin squad last year.
